We make it especially for you.

The extreme duty Wildcut™ atv mower is an extremely impressive ATV topper suitable for mowing in areas of dense overgrown vegetation including heavy rushes, heather and bracken.  It is available in a choice of 2 Briggs and Stratton engine sizes, 16v-twin and 18 v-twin, both electric start commercial engines.  The Wildcut™ mower is more efficient than a flail mower with higher work rates and lower maintenance costs.

3-D finite element analysis on the mower deck ensures maximum strength and minimum weight, making the wildcut easier to tow and reduces the tyre indentation on the ground surface. The 'floating' deck ensures that as height is adjusted the deck remains parallel so the drawbar is always at the desired height and deck stress is minimised. The mower has a deck height adjuster to give you infinite cutting height options between 50mm and 250mm. The adjustable offset drawbar allows you to tow directly behind or to either side. The Wildcut™ mower has been designed to allow you to use different towing vehicles, with a 10 position adjustable tow hitch height to suit. The Wildcut™ atv mower is designed to fit on a 50mm tow ball and so is ideal for use behind a quad or jeep/4x4.

The Wildcut™ atv mower is equipped with hardened swinging blades which fold back to prevent damage to the blade if a small stone is struck. The blades then return to their original position automatically. The unique blade brake helps slow the blades up when the blades are disengaged stopping them within about 6 seconds. The unique soft-start mechanism increases belt life. The belt engagement never needs adjustment and so maintenance costs are kept to a minimum.

The Quad-X Wildcut™ atv mower gives a cutting width of approx 1.2m. The extreme duty Wildcut™ mowers are equipped with 20x7x8 wheels which are ideal for mowing on soft or rough ground.  These models of wildcut™ mower are equipped with a large 7 litre capacity fuel tank to save time on fuel refills

The machine mounted control box gives the user quick and direct control of the blade engagement.  These electric start quad mowers can also be turned on/off from the control box also. If you are using the Wildcut™ mower with an ATV you can reach the control box from seated on the quad. If something gets caught up in the blades or the blades strike anything which might be dangerous, this handy control box allows the user to disengage blades quickly without having to go near the mower, making it safer. On the extreme-duty Wildcut™ mowers the blade speed is controlled from the machine.

Product Options
The extreme duty Wildcut™ quad mower is available in 2 engine sizes - 16 v-twin and 18 v-twin, both electric start, commercial Briggs and Stratton engines. These v-twin engines carry a 2 year warranty.  Quad-X offer the option of a momentum dynamo which will make these mowers even more capable and impressive in very dense vegetation. It is not possible to fit the wheels to the rear of the 16hp or 18hp wildcut™ mower.

Quad-X also manufacture medium and heavy duty atv toppers. Please look at the medium-duty and heavy-duty Wildcut™ mowers. Or if you need to top in very rough conditions or require a finer chop take a look at the Quad-X Flail mowers and Power Shredders™.

Q. What is the cutting with of the Wildcut™ mower?
A. The cutting width is approximately 1.2m

Q. What make are the engines?
A. Our range of mowers are equipped with Briggs and Stratton engines. They have proven to be very reliable and offer a great nationwide service network.  The v-twin commercial engines carry a 2 year warranty.

Q. What sort of blades are on the Wildcut™ mower?
A. The Wildcut™ mower is fitted with hardened swinging tips on either end of a single rotor. This ensures that the ends of the blades are able to travel at very high speeds. This gives the Wildcut™ blades great momentum making this atv mower ideal for topping.

Q. Why would I need to add the option of a momentum dynamo?
A. The momentum dynamo can be added to increase the wildcut™ mowers capability. If you are just doing light grass topping the momentum dynamo would not be needed.  If you want to cut heavy material like rushes or bracken we would recommend this option to help maintain rpm and blade speed.

Q. Can I use the wildcut™ mower if I am in a stoney area?
A. The Wildcut™ mower is not suitable if there are stones in the area you want to mow. The Wildcut™ rotary mower has swinging tips which are designed to fold back on themselves if you strike a small stone. However if there are larger stones present it may cause damage to your blades. If you need to top an area where there may be stones, we would recommend using the Quad-X Flail mower or Power Shredder™.

Q. What size of quad do I need to tow the Wildcut™ Mower?
A. The size of quad needed will depend on the terrain you are mowing and the density of the vegetation. If you are on reasonable flat pasture a 250cc should be fine. In very rough terrain you may benefit from 4 wheel drive. In extremely rough conditions the quad may have a problem with grip and it may be helpful to add weight to the front rack of the quad.
